I don't consider myself a musician anymore, but I still love music and music theory. My favorite genres are progressive trance and futurepop and the wash of genres that connect those two as you can see here. My parents were industrial and EBM enjoyers, and while that stuff's too hard for me, I enjoy the genres that branched off of it into a dancier sound. And, of course, the aesthetics.
Egg me took to this idea. My parents referred to their whole circle as "goths" or cybergoths and emphasized the importance of pageantry in goth circles. Which is true! Though it's music-based, there's obviously a big stylistic component. I like the emphasis on danceability more, but they're both great. The idea that I was partaking in this masculine, external show of force and power was euphoric before I had the word, even if I don't love the essentializing of music genres to gender.
This idea also hit my sense of personal style in lasting ways. I have one (1) pair of combat boots I wear to every event, to the point where people can tell I'm there if my shoes are by the door. Leather everything, military inspiration (I have an WW2-era flight jacket I can't wait to bust out), trench coats, kink and fetishwear, all of these are critical parts of my style as well as my self-perception. I'd still like to project that impersonal, overwhelming force you can hear in EBM in my scenes.
My favorite bands are Above & Beyond and VNV Nation and Lady Gaga, even though I'm not a band person. I just find songs from mixes or Youtube videos. Other bands that show up a lot are Icon of Coil, Rammstein, Covenant, Apoptygma Berzerk, Seabound, and CHROM. I've been messing around with Combichrist and KMFDM as of late, too.

I'd like to be able to make my own electronic music some day and had a little stint in college where I played with Tracktion.
Amplitude-Loudness
Cps/cycles per second gives you a cue for wavelength 20 cps deep bass 20000-high treble
Humans can hear from 20 hz to 20 khz In synths it starts with a trigger like a midi keyboard, a sound source that's triggered like an oscillator, a filter, then an Amp envelope which can be called ADSR which stands for Attack and Decay Sustain and Release, then it goes to Amp, the output stage
Attack: how quickly the sound reaches full volume
Decay:how quickly the sound drops to the sustain level after the peak
Sustain: What happens when you hold the note the constant volumeQuick attack, little decay sounds like an organ
Longer decay, zero sustain sounds like a guitar
Waveforms
Saw: weird gritty sound
Square:more muffled, traditionally robotic sound
Sin:like a dial tone
Triangle: Playful
LFO: Unhearable but creates a vibrato effect depending on waveform
Formant-resonance: based around a specific frequency
